Yerra Yerra is een muzikaal trio dat zich niet graag in een hokje laat proppen. Je vindt zowel invloeden uit new-wave, bluesrock, stoner, als dance terug in de muziek.
Met amper een paar maanden op de teller, is Yerra Yerra toch geen opkomende band. Eerder al speelden ze onder de naam Candlebags talloze zalen plat over heel België en omstreken. Hun debuutalbum komt in februari pas uit, maar met singles bovenaan in verschillende hitlijsten en verwijzingen als “de muzikale belofte van Vlaanderen”, zijn ze alvast sterk gestart. Yerra Yerra is a musical trio that does not like to be pigeonholed. You will find influences from new wave, blues rock, stoner and dance in the music. With barely a few months on the clock, Yerra Yerra is not an upcoming band after all. Earlier they played countless venues all over Belgium and the surrounding area under the name Candlebags. Their debut album will only be released in February, but with singles at the top of various charts and references such as “the musical promise of Flanders”, they are off to a strong start. In april 2020 lanceerden ze hun debuut EP ‘Off we Go’ – geproduceerd door de Australische producer Jaimi Faulkner en hiermee laat Check hun ware en uiteindelijk echte sound horen!
Van de single ‘Run to the Hills’ gaat de videoclip inmiddels viral! Voor de hoofdrol wisten ze Elroy Lemmens, de finalist van Expeditie Robinson, te strikken. Het enthousiasme van deze vier mannen op het podium is aanstekelijk dus er zit maar één ding op… Check them out! Country met ballen op zijn tijd gemeen, vrolijk, gezellig, soms hard maar meestal en vrijwel altijd lekker en goed. Met hun eigen visie op de country weten ze langzaam maar zeker de weg te vinden naar boven en zich te presenteren als een solide machine die graag het dak van elk podium blaast.
Country with balls at times mean, cheerful, cozy, sometimes hard but usually and almost always tasty and good. With their own vision of country, they slowly but surely find their way up and present themselves as a solid machine that likes to blow the roof off every stage. Even rust komt niet in zijn woordenboek voor, want met een zeer scherpe focus weet hij keer op keer iedereen te verassen. Het is alsof de lopende band continu aanstaat zo schud hij de teksten uit zijn mouw.
Je hoort meteen de kwaliteit en het gevoel wat er in zit. Oud zeer doet soms hele mooie dingen met mensen. A moment of rest is not in his dictionary, because with a very sharp focus he knows how to surprise everyone time and time again. It is as if the conveyor belt is constantly on, so he shakes the lyrics out of his sleeve. You immediately hear the quality and the feeling that it contains.
